Choose stems that are about 4-6 inches long and have several sets of leaves. Prepare the cuttings: Using a sharp, clean pair of gardening shears, cut the stems just below a leaf node (the point where a leaf is attached to the stem). Remove any leaves from the lower half of the stem. Optional: Apply rooting hormone (optional): You can dip the cut end of the stem into a rooting hormone powder or gel to encourage root development. This step is not necessary but can improve the chances of successful rooting. Plant the cuttings: Fill a small pot or seed tray with a well-draining potting mix. Make small holes in the soil using a pencil or your finger, and insert the cuttings about 1-2 inches deep into the soil. Space the cuttings at least a few inches apart to provide them room to grow. Watering: Moisten the soil lightly after planting the cuttings, ensuring it is evenly moist but not waterlogged. Maintain a slightly moist soil throughout the rooting process, as excessive moisture can lead to rot.
