Product Details
The variety is cross of Gamma ray (400 Gy) and mutant of Co (FS) 29. Co (FS) 31/ is multicut/perennial fodder sorghum, released from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore on 2014. The variety is recommended for cultivation in both irrigated part of dry conditions and suitable for anywhere climatic conditions in India. Seed rate is 4 kg per acre (Spacing is 1x1 feet for single seeds). Irrigation is 7ndash;9 days depending upon soil conditions. It gives 6ndash;7 cuts in one year at 60 days interval (for first harvest) and subsequent cuttings at 30 days interval. It can be multicut up to 4 years. The leaves and stem are highly succulent in nature. It is having very less leaf blade and fast growth. It contains high protein (9.86%), dry matter (25.9%) and less crude fiber (19.8%). Average yield of green fodder is 76-79 t/acre/yr. First weeding on 25-30 days after sowing. After each harvest a weeding may be given before fertilization.
